METHOD :1 TRIM THE UNNECESSARY STEM

So what are you going to do when you find out that the aloe vera stem is too long? The easiest method is to cut the overgrown part and plant it again. But how? We will discuss it below.

Take the aloe vera plant that is overgrown. Remove the soil take the plant out from the pot carefully. You can use the same container for repotting, but we will use another pot to do it efficiently. Now take the other pot. Clean it completely. If you rinse it with water, then let it dry for few minutes.

Come to the overgrown aloe vera plant; if the plant is not removing easily, you might have to break the pot. Then shake the plant to clean the left-out soil residue on the leaves.

Aloe vera plant often has tiny pups. Before planting into the new pot, remove them and plant them into other pots. Congrats! You got more succulents.

The next step involves trimming the overgrown roots. At this stage, you have to do the extra care of your plant. Trim out the unnecessary part of the root and place it into the dried pot. Pant it properly. But avoid watering it immediately. Let the plant settle in the new pot. Water the plant after 2-3 days.

METHOD: 2 PLACE THE PLANT INTO DEEPER POT

Being a plant lover, you might not love to trim or cut it from the roots. So, for you, here is another method that causes less damage to the roots and doesn’t require any trimming at all.

At this time, get the deeper pot. Wash it and let it dry. Now remove the aloe vera plant from the container and put it into the deeper one by adding some compost grains. Bury the plant into the newer pot attentively. You have to choose the larger, deeper pot to store the larger aloe vera stem easily.

But keep it in your mind that this method will not work if your aloe vera stem grown too long. Also, water the plant after few days.

METHOD: 3 PUTTING A PLASTIC AROUND THE STEM

The above two methods can go well for the small aloe vera plants. But if the aloe vera stem is too long, then these methods are not convenient. For larger and medium-sized aloe vera plants, this method will work best. You just have to put in a little bit of effort.

Take the container made of plastic. With the scissors, split it from one side to make a hole in the center for drainage. The hole should be larger than the stem. Make sure that the container is large enough to cover the large area of the stem efficiently.

Now make small holes with the knife or a pin around the sides that you split before. These holes will assist you further in sealing the pot again. A thread or short, thin wire can be used for this purpose.

Put the container around the overgrown part of the stem by noticing that the plastic container covers the whole area. Now, tie the tiny holes that you made before and with the wire or thread to seal it completely.

So the second pot is ready. Fill the other container up with the soil. You will notice in few months that the new roots are developed to support the next container. At that time, you can decide whether you want the second container or not. After the adequate development of roots, you can take off the plastic container from the stem.
